Tim George was born and raised in Northwestern Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Kathy, also a lawyer, have three small children.  He says, "Erie and Northwestern Pennsylvania is our home and has been the community where our families have worked for more than a century."  His great-grandfather was a longshoreman in Erie. His maternal grandfather taught Math for decades at Gannon College (now Gannon University) and Cathedral Prep High School. In 1944, his paternal grandfather founded WESPEN Audio Visula Company in Hawthorn.  His father and brother run the company which is now a third generation family-owned business.  For 20 years, his mother worked at Mercyhurst College.

After graduating from St. Bonaventure University and receiving a law degree in 1992 from the The Dickinson School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson) in Carlisle, Tim returned home to practice law.  He founded his own practice in 1996 and credits the training provided by more experienced lawyers with whom he has worked over the years, his time as a criminal prosecutor, and his experience as an Army lawyer with shaping his practice.  In 2009, Tim was called to active duty and served as trial counsel for the 28th Combat Aviation Brigade at Contingency Operating Base Adder in southern Iraq.  After 11 months of active duty, he returned to private practice in February 2010.
